Navigating the intricate landscape of academic research often feels like charting unexplored territory. How does one convey the volumes of research papers meticulously read, the countless drafts painstakingly written, the models that never reached the realm of publication, and the insights distilled from conversations? I've been looking for a suitable platform to share my work for a while now, and have come to the conclusion that the best platform would be my own: an online notebook to share my insights, thoughts, drafts, things I have read and projects I am working on. I am happy to introduce UNPublished, an extension of my website UNBUILT.
Welcome to UNPublished, a space born from the need to bridge this gap. I invite you to join me as I share my academic exploration. It is with genuine enthusiasm that I extend this invitation to fellow seekers of urban insights, inviting you to partake in the unfolding scholarly discourse of my previous, ongoing and future projects. This platform functions as a conduit between theoretical research and tangible real-world study cases.
Throughout my future posts, I will unravel complexities, offering actionable insights that transcend theoretical constructs. Anticipate an in-depth exploration of urban theories, quantitative analyses, and community-driven research. I am excited to share my past research endeavours, exploring the customisation of urban spaces to access [quantifiable] joy and the mass-customisation of cities. This investigation utilized geotagged social media APIs and open data sources to unveil the quantifiable nature of life satisfaction and its influence when integrated as a metric into parametric urban planning.
Additionally, I'm pleased to shed light on my ongoing project—a toolkit for digital community-generated organization and urban action centred around the Kottbusser Tor area in Berlin, Germany. Furthermore, collaboratively with Architect Mihal Ronko, we introduce THE COMMONCATALOGUE, a project dedicated to empowering sustainable urban regeneration. Through a data-driven, parametric approach, we aim to prioritize community needs in the process of revitalizing urban spaces.
Moreover, anticipate insights from conferences, workshops, and events that expand data-based urbanism and digital societal transformation. And don't miss the TL;DR book club, where I'll share insights from my favourite publications.
